WVFAS Responds to the World Trade Center Attack September 11, 2001 |

On September 11, 2001, Weehawken served as a major evacuation site for the World Trade Center attacks. WVFAS members responded to the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and awaited an anticipated flood of injured patients from the disaster. Police, Fire and Ambulance crews from all over New Jersey responded as well, eager to help survivors of the attack.
